Recruitment & Training

As a member of the Ontario Football Officials Association (OFOA), KFOA adheres to all training requirements prescribed by OFOA. There are 4 levels of amateur officials in Ontario as follows:

Level 1 – Mechanics and rule knowledge appropriate for sideline (Headlinesman and Line Judge) officials in a 4-man crew

Level 2 – Mechanics and rule knowledge appropriate for Headlinesman and Field Judge officials, and Umpire in a 4-man crew at minor and High \school levels of football

Level 3 – Mechanics and rule knowledge appropriate for Headlinesman, Field Judge, Umpire and Referee positions at a 4-man crew at minor, High School level; Headlinesman, Field Judge Umpire positions at for such leagues as Ontario Premier Football League

Level 4 – Mechanics and rule knowledge appropriate for all positions in amateur football in Ontario

KFOA holds regular meetings throughout the Spring (April – June) and Fall (September – December) football seasons to provide ongoing training, mentorship and resources to enable any official with the skill and determination to advance through all levels of football available to KFOA. This includes all leagues up to and including CIS football.
